Do you have a small space in your home or office that you wish was a bit larger? Carefully placed furnishings around the home and paint color selection can make your small space seem almost double in size. The number one rule to color in a small space is that there are no rules, however, here are a few of our favorite tips.

Choose sharp colors – One of the best ways to expand a space is with very clear colors. Choose a color palette of sharper colors as opposed to duller ones.  Color combinations with negative space in between will enhance the space’s clarity and openness.

Create a focal point – An accent wall in a small room can really open up a room. Don’t be afraid of bold colors, sometimes a darker color on one wall can make a space look much larger.

Connect spaces with shades of color – Different shades of the same color can unite all the rooms together in a small space. A pillow that matches a lampshade or a rug that compliments an end table, can really tie together multiple small rooms.

Stretch with stripes – Stripes can make a room appear much larger than it is in reality. A lighter color painted ceiling can make the room also seem taller and more airier.

These tips will surely help you create a bigger space in your home. If you would like help with your house painting needs, please contact us at Davis Paint Company in Woodstock, GA for a consultation.
